How did I get here?

Perhaps, I walked with a smooth, carefree trust,

or was led by a precise, clear direction.

At times, I may have stood at a stance,

for the inevitable battles, some lost, some won.

Am I dreaming?

The glorious gift of two beautiful daughters,

brought vibrant days filled with delight.

Then and now, their miraculous presence,

assures me, my life’s journey was traveled right.

When was the time any better?

Grateful for overflowing warmth,

I’m amazed at my basketful of treasures.

Love gathered each season, no struggles interfere,

with smiles, I appreciate the abundant pleasures.

What more can there be?

An announcement awakened my quiet mood,

and brightened any cloudy skies.

A grandchild expected, then no questions remained,

all happy together by this joyful surprise.

Now, it’s all so clear!

My granddaughter’s birth,

my pride and joy sent from above.

More miracles, more gratefulness, the purpose in life,

all Connected by Love.
