Modernizing Admirations of Past Generations
But it’s refreshing to keep some traditions. In my case… Egg Biscuits 😋
My daughters would say that my Mother’s Egg biscuits should have been mass-produced and tasted fluffy and heavenly. I may not have all the adjectives correct, but I know they and many friends and family LOVED her egg biscuits!
But there is plenty more admiration than just egg biscuits…
It is three years (as of writing this story) since I lost my Mother, which seems sadly unreal. Really seemed like she would go on longer because her mind was sharp. However, her body had endured Arthritis and Osteoporosis and two broken hips (pin in one at about 87 and the other replaced at 96).
Through her ailments, losing her husband reasonably young, and at close to 91, losing a child, my older sister at 56, my Mother persevered with her life as best she could. She budgeted like a charm on a fixed income of my Father’s pension and her minimal social security. Always had some extra money by being diligent, looking for items on sale, and yet being as generous as she could with gifts to her family.
