Progress with Goals — What works better: New ideas or Motivation?
Or a Mother’s voice? Maybe all of the above and more….
My latest articles have been on sustainability, slow fashion, and recycling. Some days I accomplish more than others, but my passion for a clean world helps me on my journey to live as eco-friendly as possible.
Sometimes I need ideas, tips, motivation, and anything else to get me moving on the things I’m not so passionate about, like chores.
Now at age 64, I realize I search for passion and purpose to help with motivation. One example is cleaning. I do better knowing the chores get done fast. My younger daughter taught me to pair up the task with something else.
For instance, I’ll bring my recyclables downstairs, and when I come up, I’ll maybe clean the toilet or vacuum a room. Sounds funny, I know, but it makes things easier than setting time aside only to clean.
Ultimately, I’m most successful with tasks when there’s a benefit involved. My older daughter also shares good ideas and helps with motivation.
Two books of the many she gave me or recommended are ‘Limitless’ by Jim Kwik and ‘The Four Agreements’ by Don Miguel Ruiz with Janet Mills.
