So Long Ago

I drive along the familiar road,
The changes are numerous
I look back several times
And try to remember how it looked
So long ago.

I’m saddened that the young girl,
Then devoted to walking these steps,
Is far, far away from me
No air can I grasp from the road,
Not from that long ago.
